Water Media Campaign


The Water Education Water Awareness Committee (WEWAC), a consortium of 16 water providers in western San Bernardino County and eastern Los Angeles County, sponsors an annual Water Media Campaign Broadcast and Digital Art Contest.

The contest is open to 7th-12th grade students within the service ares of WEWAC member agencies: Chino Basin Water Conservation District, City of Chino, City of Chino Hills, City of Glendora, City of La Verne, City of Pomona, City of Upland, Cucamonga Valley Water District, Fontana Water Co., Inland Empire Utilities Agency, Monte Vista Water District, Ontario Municipal Utilities Company, Roland Water District, Three Valleys Municipal Water District, Valley County Water District, Walnut Valley Water District.

Goal of the Contest

The objective of the "Water Media Campaign" is to increase awareness of the importance of water in local Southern California schools through creativity and imagination. Additionally, the contest is intended to enhance academic instruction by providing the opportunity for financial support to do creative classroom projects that might not otherwise be possible.

The prizes will be awarded to the SCHOOL. No individuals will be provided prize money. WEWAC will use the winning entries for educational purposes. Entries can be accepted in two formats: "Broadcast Media" and "Digital Art."


Judging Criteria

The criteria used to judge submissions will include incorporation of water supply issues, creativity, originality, informational content, accuracy of information, and production quality.


Broadcast Media

  • 1st Place: $400
  • 2nd Place: $300
  • 3rd Place: $150

Digital Art

  • 1st Place: $400
  • 2nd Place: $300
  • 3rd Place: $150


All entries must be postmarked or delivered by 5:00 PM, Thursday, February 14, 2019
