Our Website is Getting a Makeover (May 9, 2019)

MVWD staff have been working closely with a web design team over the last several months to redesign the District's website. The newly madeover MVWD.org will be unveiled at the end of May, featuring a user-friendly lay-out and streamlined information.  


Student Winners Recognized in 2019 "Water is Life" Poster Contest (Apr 25, 2019)

Monte Vista Water District recognized student winners in the "Water is Life" Art Poster Contest at its Board of Directors meeting Wednesday night. Students in K-12 schools throughout the district's service area were invited to create an art poster depicting various water uses and conservation messages.


MVWD Awards Scholarships to Montclair High Seniors (Apr 11, 2019)

The Monte Vista Water District Board of Directors awarded Maria Farias and Ixchel Hernandez of Montclair High School the "2019 Bruce J. Lance, Jr. Water Scholarship" at Wednesday's board meeting. Each year the board awards two $1,000 scholarships in Lance's honor for his 44 years of extraordinary service to the district and the community as the agency's general counsel.

Governor Declares Statewide Drought Emergency Over (Apr 10, 2017)

On Friday, Governor Brown declared an end to California's statewide drought emergency. Monte Vista Water District once again congratulates our customers on using water efficiently before, during, and after the drought and asks them to continue their successful conservation efforts.

District Certifies Drought-Resilient Water Supplies (Jul 1, 2016)

The District, in partnership with local agencies, has certified to the State Water Resources Control Board that it has surplus water supplies available to meet projected demands even under ongoing drought conditions. Click here to view the District's state drought self-certification documents.


District Rescinds Water Shortage Declaration, Maintains Water Use Requirements (Jun 30, 2016)

MVWD thanks our customers for helping us reach our state-mandated water use reduction goal! MVWD has sufficient water supplies to meet demands even under continued drought conditions, so on June 22 the Board of Directors lifted its shortage declaration. Please note: year-round water use efficiency "best practices" are still in place and will be enforced. Click here to report water waste.
